The Design:
Imagine an apartment with a dated kitchen and bathroom, daggy lighting and a mix of vinyl flooring and cheap carpet. This is an image of the existing apartment I was tasked with redesigning.
This project is a really great example of designing a space to feel more current. It’s not necessarily about having grand proportions but working with what you have and coming up with something fresh, maximising storage and using affordable finishes with a more designed and detailed flair to bring the project to life. I think in the current economic climate this is something homeowners and designers should strive for.
The particular details I am extremely proud about are: the custom slimline shaker kitchen, it is simple, refined and while being compact functions very well. The lighting design working with Inlite to focus directional spotlights and creating moments of light as opposed to filling a room with light. Thirdly the statement artwork selections which I believe really make the apartment design.
